Loving Others

“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 26: 36-40)

Did Jesus also mean the unlovable people, the people who irritates us, the ones who are critical, judgmental, or just unkind? He couldn’t possibly expect us to love those people as well, did he? God is love and Jesus entire ministry was based on loving others and because we are followers of Jesus Christ we are instructed to do the same. Love is an action and a decision. (more…)
